US President Joe Biden’s top CoV advisor, Anthony Fauci, has been infected with the corona virus. A quick test was positive for the 81-year-old yesterday, according to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), led by Fauci. «He is fully vaccinated and has been boosted twice,» the institute added. «He currently has only mild symptoms.»
Fauci has recently had no close contact with US President Joe Biden or other high government officials. The respected immunologist will now isolate at home and work from there.
After entering the White House in January 2021, Biden made Fauci his “senior medical adviser” in the fight against the pandemic. The doctor and researcher had already been a member of the government’s CoV crisis team under Biden’s predecessor Donald Trump. Fauci repeatedly drew Trump’s displeasure, who downplayed the danger posed by the corona virus for a long time.
