A new ranking of governors carried out by CB Consultora Opinion Pública yielded a result that can be understood in tune with the bids for power within the country’s main political arenas, the Front for All and Together for Change.Unlike the May analysis, not all opposition leaders are the most valued for their efforts. Of course, the last three on the list are still in the hands of representatives of the government coalition.

In the midst of the fight with Mauricio Macri, Gerardo Morales, from Jujuy, heads the list with a 71.6% positive image; followed by Juan Schiaretti, from Córdoba, with 68.7%; and Sergio Uñác , from San Juan, with 68.2%. Compared to last month,Horacio Rodríguez Larreta fell from the first three places,of the City of Buenos Aires, with 67.5%.

At the other extreme are Axel Kicillof, from the province of Buenos Aires, with 44.2%; and Alicia Kirchner , from Santa Cruz, with 44.7%. The particularity of these two governors is that in addition to being part of the ruling coalition they respond directly to the orders of Vice President Cristina Kirchner.

Morales obtains the first place – he recovers that place as in April – in the midst of the crossfire with Macri and the tensions in Together for Change due to the aspirations of the UCR to gain prominence within the opposition coalition. What’s more, last week the man from Jujuy received a visit from Elisa Carrió . From the National Committee of the Radical Civic Union they pointed out that the “meeting allowed sharing coincidences regarding the need to strengthen Together for Change.”

The top 10 of provincial leaders with a positive assessment is completed with the governor of Mendoza, Rodolfo Suárez (67.9%); from La Pampa, Sergio Ziliotto (67.3%); from Tucumán, Osvaldo Jaldo (65.7%); from Corrientes, Gustavo Valdés (65.5%); from Misiones, Oscar Ahuad (64.8%); and from San Luis, Alberto Rodríguez Saá (64.3%).

In the middle of the table -with an approval that ranges between 55% and 63%- are Gustavo Bodet, from Entre Ríos; Gerardo Zamora, from Santiago del Estero; Raúl Jalil, from Catamarca; Gustavo Mella , from Tierra del Fuego; Omar Gutiérrez, from Neuquén; and Jorge Capitanich , from Chaco.

Already below that percentage are Governor Arabela Carreras , from Río Negro; Gildo Insfrán, from Formosa; Gustavo Saenz, from Salta.

The last three governors in the ranking, meanwhile, are the ones who crossed the 50% threshold. Among them, in addition to Kicillof and Alicia Kirchner, is Ricardo Quintela , from La Rioja.

The good performance obtained by Governor Schiaretti made the Mayor of Córdoba, Martín Llaryora , once again prevail among the community leaders as the best image in the entire country, with 66.8%. He is followed by Eduardo Tassano, from Corrientes, with 65.6%, and Jorge Jofré, from Formosa, with 66.3%.

The national deputy for Libertad Avanza launched his presidential candidacy last Friday, with a ceremony that took place on the field of the El Porvenir club, in the Buenos Aires town of Gerli. ”You have to understand the logic of caste, in that sense what marks the model of caste is to say where there is a need, a right is born. The problem is that when there is a right someone has to pay it. There is a conflict between infinite needs and scarce resources”, remarked the legislator in one of the most important passages of his speech.
